San Pedro de Atacama is the archaeological capital of Chile, not only landscapes are part of its appeal, its history is enriched and also for you, your stay and experience. We will visit the most important archaeological sites in the area without traveling to the past to know the origin of the Atacama or Licanantai culture, Pukara Quitor is not only important for local history, but it is for the history of Chile through battle of Quitor (1540) one of the first conflicts between Spaniards and Indians. On the farm Atacama we will see how a family combines the ancient traditions of agriculture and animal husbandry with tourism, tasting of some products of the earth, then the Village of Tulor, which corresponds to the oldest of the Salar de Atacama basin population and one of the first tests of sedentary lifestyles in the region. And finally, we will move to the center of San Pedro de Atacama to travel back in time to the colonial era, where one of the most emblematic is the Church of San Pedro, constructed and maintained until today adobe, cactus wood, chañar and carob, a national monument since 1951.
